The Piano Room

Upon entering the house, your journey begins with this room. A large sitting and dining room area currently showcasing my baby grand piano. To the left (not pictured) are the stairs leading up to the bedrooms and loft.
Seen from the opposite side of the room, at night this room becomes a warm inviting area perfect for entertaining guests. By stroke of luck, I found a wonderful nickel-plated chandelier with blue flutes that gives out a wonderfully soothing hue for the room.
Yet another view of the piano room from the kitchen showing its full vibrancy during the day.

Powder Room

(thats what the floorplan calls it!)
I get many "Oh, Wow," remarks from my friends and family when they see this bathroom filled with its dramatic orange walls set against the warm, rich imported marble.
A close-up shot of the sink. All the faucets in the house were upgraded to this wonderful Glacier Bay model. None of those ugly, cheap builder grade faucets trimmed in plastic!
Another close-up shot, but of the floor. Lots of character and interesting details in the marble and the veins! Beautiful rich brown that comes alive with the orange tinted walls. Where I got the guts to paint the walls orange, I will never know, but everyone absolutely loves the end results.

Kitchen and Living Room

Here's a shot of the living room with its 2-story ceiling. The fireplace makes a wonderful focal point for the room. Just right for sitting around and talking. Now I just need to find the perfect coffee table to bring the conversation area together.
A bigger kitchen, I couldn't ask for. With so much room, I turned my dining room into the piano room and got a dining table that takes leaves. I've seated 12 people in this kitchen!   Incredibly, I found this nickel and cobolt blue fan at Home Depot that matches the piano's chandelier and ties the two rooms together. I gave new meaning to the phrase, "impulse buying," that day.
I absolutely love this sink. I shopped for a long time before I found this chip-proof, stain-proof, poured granite-composite sink that was just the ticket for my heavy duty cooking chores. After destroying 2 food processors, I finally grubbed up the dough and bought a monster of a grinder. The food's often liquefied before I can even take my hand off the switch!
I was destroying my walls while cooking with the lousy four-inch high backsplash that came with the house. Now the walls are tiled from counter top to bottom of cabinets. No more clean up problems for me; and while I was at it, how about some under cabinet lighting?

Loft / Office

Heading upstairs, you will encounter my home office. Lots of space to work and keep my books near by.
Another view of my office from the master bedroom's door. The loft overlooks the living room, giving the area a feeling of being very large. The laundry room (not pictured) is tucked neatly behind two closet doors to my immediate left here. I bought one of those stacked units and installed shelves from floor to ceiling to give me lots of linen closet space.

Guest Bedroom

Looking into the guest bedroom from the top of the stairs at night. Many a guest has stayed here and enjoyed the night. More than one has remarked that the blue color was simply soothing and brought just the right amount of balance to the all black furnishings.
Another shot of the bedroom from the head of the bed. (I had to get Buzz in here!)
And just what does Buzz see? Why the other corner, of course. All the shells I ever discovered as a kid are on display somewhere in this room.

Master Bedroom

And finally...we come to my domain, the master bedroom. I always loved the woods and with the warm muted green and rich wood colors in this room, I'm happier than a lumberjack with a two handed, double-blade ax in a virgin forest.
Where's the TV? Hmmmm...I can only wonder...but that bed sure looks inviting. I think I'll wrap this up and hit the sack.
And from the bathroom door...What a wall to put a huge painting on. My Sister-in-law gave me this painting after I discovered it being neglected in her basement. I couldn't believe how well it went in this room. What was I thinking hanging it in the living room for over a year?
Lastly, we look behind us and behold! The master bathroom with double vanities...woooOOoooaah (whispered with a sense of awe) Was the builder nuts? He only gave me a standard towel rack for the whole bathroom where the picture now hangs. I put a stop to that non-sense with a double towel rack in the bath area and two hand towel holders by the sinks.
