Practice Activity #4: Implementation Strategy

Learner Plan

Learner Identification The learner audience for this training is:

Class size is 1

Students ranging in ages from 9th grade to 12th grade, and possibly a few adults.

Will be both males and females.

Schedule Total number to be trained is 6—80

In home on computer, or wherever students plan on doing the course.

3 hour training, can be accessed as many times as needed to complete.

Before actual course is accessed.

Notification The purpose of the training is to enable students to use St. Brendan’s e-learning platform, and improve their independent learning strategies.
  • Prerequisites will be posted on main St. Brendan’s web site.
  • E-mail will be sent as soon as a student registers for a course.
Upon completion of the course the learners will be able to:
  1. Identify the elements of the e-platform.
  2. Describe how to use the elements of the e-platform.
  3. Utilize the e-platform to learn about e-strategies.
  4. Create a learning schedule for using the e-platform.
  5. Develop independent learning strategies for the e-platform.
  6. Outline the e-learning strategies of the e-platform.
Tracking Each individual will receive a grade for the course that he/she is taking.

Participants will be asked to complete an evaluation for the e-learning platform.

Facilitator Plan

Facilitator Identification Only one facilitator will be assigned and trained for this course. The facilitator will have:
  • A working knowledge of computers and computer networks.
  • Facilitator experience.
Training Schedule Training will be conducted in... The following equipment is available:
  • Networked computer with oraganization's client/server application installed.
  • Overhead projection of computer's screen.
  • Whiteboard and dry-erase markers and eraser.

Train-the-Trainer session will be conducted four weeks before first class is scheduled.

Pilot Test: March, 2004

Train-the-Trainer: April, 2004

Initial Course Start: May 2004

Preparation The facilitator should:
  • Review the Learner and Facilitator Guide
  • Be familiar with the e-learning platform.
  • Attend the Train-the-Trainer session.

The purpose of the training is to enable students to use St. Brendan’s e-learning platform, and improve their independent learning strategies.

The Learner's Guide will be distributed one week in advance of first session.
