Now you have presented your case to the Board and, hopefully, you were successful in your bid to have ADDIE utilized as the new instructional model at Creative Designs. Let's look back for a moment at the new knowledge you have acquired.
  • You can define the common terminology used in Instructional Design.
  • You can discuss the advantages of using a systematic approach to Instructional Design.
  • You have had an introduction to the learning theories that support our instructional models.
  • You are familiar with several different types of instructional media and their uses.

Now that you know what Instructional Design is all about and know a good deal about the ADDIE model, are you ready to put that knowledge to work developing your first learning episode?

  • If you think you're up to the challenge, meet with your team again and find an educational need that you would enjoy designing a course for.
  • Keeping with your current roles, apply the ADDIE model to designing that course.

Remember that Instructional Design is as much an art, as it is a science. Be creative. Be enthusiastic. Be an...

    Instructional Designer.
